Dear BlueJ users,
BlueJ version 1.1.4 has just been released. (The Macintosh version has
not yet been updated. A Mac version of 1.1.4 will be released in about
two days.)
This version of BlueJ requires JDK 1.3 to be installed. JDK 1.2.2 is no
longer supported.
Changes in this version include improvements, especially adding
flexibility in configuration, and bug fixes. Some additions:
- Uses new (JDK1.3) compiler implementation. This brings editor
messages in line
with command line error messages.
- Can get arrays and array element to the object bench
- Class templates are more flexible. New class templates can be added,
and
class templates can be located in an arbitrary directory
- "user home" can be specified (that's the location where the personal
properties file will be created)
- Display of exceptions in library classes has been improved
- Several improvements with editor key definitions
- New editor functions for cutting/copying/moving lines and words
allow more efficient editing
- Optional soft TABs (tabbing with spaces) in the editor
(see http://www.bluej.org/help/totw.html for details)
- Spanish interface included (thanks to Iván Alfonso Guarín, from the
Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia)
- Various bug fixes
