Dear BlueJ users,

We are please to announce that

                BlueJ 2.0 beta

is available for download now from http://www.bluej.org

BlueJ 2.0 beta adds support for J2SE 5.0 (formerly known as JDK 1.5),
including support for generic types, enums, varargs, autoboxing, etc.

All new Java 5.0 features are fully integrated in BlueJ. For example,
generic classes can be interactively created, enums can be placed on
the object bench and examined, vararg methods can be interactively
invoked with support for entry of variable parameter lists, generic
types are correctly displayed in object inspectors, etc.

In addition, BlueJ 2.0 includes a new text evaluation pane, and
supports full keyboard navigation of the diagram and object bench,
including keyboard-based context menus, etc.

Feedback regarding this beta release is very welcome. For feedback,
please use the BlueJ discussion list ( bluej-discuss at bluej.org ) or the
bug reporter at http://bugs.bluej.org/

Please note that this is a beta release, not a production release (as
is J2SE 5.0). We do not recommend using this version in a classroom
teaching context. We expect a final release of BlueJ 2.0 around the
same time J2SE 5.0 is released as a final release.

Best regards,

The BlueJ Team
