Dear BlueJ Users,

We are happy to announce the release of BlueJ 2.0.5.

This version fixes some known issues, and adds some functionality.

The most pressing issue was the incompatibility with MacOS X 10.4
(Tiger). This has been resolved now.

When this issue came up, we had already been working on some other
improvements, and were faced with the decision to roll them back for
this release, or to go through testing to incorporate them. We have
opted for the latter. As a result, there are now some improvements in
this release that were planned for a future 2.1 version. These include

- improvements to the handling of generics in the code pad,

- the ability to handle UNC paths for projects*, and

- the ability to open jar and zip files directly from BlueJ (via the
   'Open Non-BlueJ' function).

(*the UNC path functionality has to be explicitly switched on. There
will be a FAQ entry about this shortly. In the meantime: if you need
to use this, write to us on bluej-discuss and ask.)

As always, get the new BlueJ version from the BlueJ web site at

    http://www.bluej.org

On the web site, we have also added a brief description about running
BlueJ with Java 5 on MacOS.

Any feedback is very welcome.

Regards,

The BlueJ Team
