Dear BlueJ users members,

This mail is to announce the

     	FIRST BLUEJ DAY
	1st March 2006

and to invite interested people to participate.

The BlueJ Day is a one-day event that will be held on 1st March 2006
in conjunction with SIGCSE 2006 in Houston, Texas.

The Day combines conference, seminar and workshop elements to create
an exciting program for all people interested in BlueJ -- interested
newcomers and seasoned users alike.

The day will have a number of sessions, organised in two tracks.
There will be separate sessions for beginners, intermediate, and
advanced users.

A large part of the program will be presented by members of the BlueJ
team (all BlueJ team members will be present, as well as both authors
of the BlueJ textbook).

Participation in the event will be FREE, but will require
registration (to allow us to plan the practical things, such as
organising rooms, coffee, etc.) Registration will be limited (by the
size of the room) and we will work on a first-come, first-served basis.

More information is available at

	http://www.bluej.org/bluej-day.html

A draft program outline will be published shortly.

HELP SHAPE THE DAY: You can help to set the content for the day in
two ways:

1) Currently, we haven't finalised decisions for all time slots. We
have more
ideas than time. You can help us setting priorities by mailing
us topic areas
      you are particularly interested in.

2) The day will include a session of short "lightning presentations"
from BlueJ
users. If you are a BlueJ user and have an interesting idea to
present that
shows something that you have successfully done with BlueJ (and
which
could be useful for other users), please volunteer to present
on the day.

Any questions and comments are very welcome.

Regards,

The BlueJ Team
