Dear BlueJ Users,

We have just released a new version of BlueJ: BlueJ 2.2.0.

This is the first substantial BlueJ update for quite some time. Never
has any BlueJ release been in beta state for longer. This had two
reasons: Firstly, this release contains new functionality where we
were looking for feedback from as many outside testers as we could
get, and secondly, both the primary developers of the most
substantial new functionality in this release came to the end of
their degrees within that time!

Davin McCall finished his Masters degree while working on this, and
Bruce Quig submitted his PhD.

With these minor distractions, Bruce and Davin managed to finish one
of the most interesting additions to BlueJ in recent years (based on
work started by Kasper Fisker):

	Support for group work.

BlueJ now explicitly supports team work based on CVS (with subversion
support to be added later in the year). BlueJ presents a simple
interface to a subset of CVS functionality (sharing of projects,
concurrent editing and merging, history). This is, I think, one of
the simplest interfaces to a group work system currently available.

Documentation is available, but it still being improved. New versions
of the documentation will be added shortly.

Try it our, and let us know what you think.

Download, as always, from www.bluej.org
