[Bluej-discuss] programming as a random process

What do people think of Python as a first language? It lacks (as far
as I know) a compiler that enforces language levels, but it allows
you to write functions first, graduate to classes, move functions
into classes to make methods, and avoids a lot of the syntactic cruft
of Java.

I must say, I'm rather intrigued by the idea of playing with it.
