Yes, that was it. Thanks Michael. In fact this has been a strange  
coincidence
that masked the problem. I happened to upgrade to version 2.1.3 at  
the same time
that I created a new project whose name was accentuated. I never did  
such a thing
before, so I was convinced it had to do with the upgrade. I simply  
took off the accent
and "voila",   it compiles seamlessly as usual.

If this is such an easy solution, I would not care to look for a  
difficult one. Just state
clearly that only normal letter should be used fo a project.
