[Bluej-discuss] CheckStyle extension

I used the CheckStyle extension that Stephen Edwards from Virginia Tech
posted last year with pretty good results. One of my students said he
hated using it at first, but that it ended up making it much easier to
read and understand his code.

Unfortunately, it used CheckStyle 4.0, which was unable to handle
generics, so my students kept getting errors about not having space
around their <'s and >'s or having space there.

Unfortunately, the SourceForge site hasn't been updated since version
3.3 of CheckStyle, and I've just tried to update the version there, but
am getting an error that has to do with CheckStyle's inability to load
its own internal DTD.

I noticed that Stephen Bloch has been poking around the site recently,
so I thought I'd ask the list if anyone has the CheckStyle extension
working or has another suggestion of a way to enforce good style fairly
automatically.

Anyone?
Todd

P.S. It seems that Amazon still has a few 2nd edition books around.
Unfortunately, I'll have to buy them and have the school reimburse me.
Ahhh, bureaucracy.
