[Bluej-discuss] Objects First - Who was the first person / people to propose this idea?

Hello All from sunny Wales (U.K.),
	    				    I am a new member to this discussion list.

I am researching into novice programming and I am trying to find out some
information about the history of the 'Objects First' appproach to
programming.

Who was the first person / people to propose the idea of Objects First.  I
am looking for some early papers, studies or other formal documents that can
clarify where the seeds were sown. Can anybody point me in the right
direction??
