Hi, new to BlueJ, and just learning about it. If this is a FAQ, I'm sorry to repeat it, but I couldn't find mention of it in the last 6 months of postings nor on the BlueJ site.
Since BlueJ is based, in part, on Netbeans, and they have something called "coyote", do you folks have any plans to integrate Jython or other scripting languages into the BlueJ IDE, perhaps with that "module"? I know BlueJ is for teaching Java, but Jython and other langauges can do a nice job of teaching basic concepts as well, and BlueJ organizes things so nicely for a beginner like me..
I'm looking for a simple thing to hobby with, and Netbeans (1gb installed ) and Eclipse (1.5 gb installed) are too overpowering. But there appear to be no simple GUIs for any of the scripting languages which run on the JVM.
Suggestions are appreciated. Again, I am not looking for Emacs, VIM, or other hard core solutions; I am hoping for the equivalent of BlueJ (or BlueJ itself!).
Thanks for any thoughts you all may have,
Michael
