[Bluej-discuss] Synchonising compilation between BlueJ and Netbeans somewhat imperfect

BlueJ Dev Team:

I am currently using Netbeans 5.5.1 BlueJ Edition as my development
environment and BlueJ 2.2.0 as my test/interactive environment. I
notice that when I compile in Netbeans, BlueJ ignores the compiled
class(es) and runs those it has compiled previously. Hitting the
Compile button doesn't force a compile because it is convinced that
there is no need. So I have to right-click on each class and choose Compile.

This behaviour is consistent if there is an object on the Object
Bench, even when the barbers pole has gone grey because, presumably,
nothing is happening. But sometimes, if there is nothing on the
Object Bench, the relevant classes become striped after a Netbeans
compile, and then clicking the Compile button works. Also, it would
be nice if changing focus from one to the other always saved the
previous IDE's code files. Sometimes I forget to save before
switching with the result that an older version in the IDE I am going
to gets saved over the top of the newer version in the other IDE.

I lost a fairly hard-won method which took me quite a while to
recreate. Keep up the good work.

Regards,
Hedley
