[Bluej-discuss] Can't replace escaped characters in Netbeans, specifically \n

I am also using Netbeans BlueJ Edition v 5.5.1 and in the code editor 
are unable to match on say \n\n and replace with a single linebreak 
\n.  Adding more backslashes doesn't help.

Replacing
         \n      -->     n
         \\n     -->     \n
         etc.

Tell me it ain't so.
